Can Artificial grass be recycled?
This is the question a lot of people are asking! The short answer is Yes!
Many years ago this would never have been a question and any artificial grass would be sent to landfill and a lot still does. It was incredibly hard to recycle artificial grass due to the complexity of the different materials and the procedure.
Artificial grass is mainly made up of plastics which can include polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), latex polyethylene. Artificial grass also contains a sand infill. All these materials can be recycled and re-used.
